Custom Error Pages
Find out about website error pages, exactly when they show up and why you should use customized error pages.
If you have browsed many sites, you have probably encountered some error message every now and then. An error may take place in case the hosting server cannot process a request (Error 400), if you must log in in order to see some content and you have not done so (Error 401), if you aren't permitted to access some webpage (Error 403) or when a link leads to a file that is not on the server (Error 404). Getting this type of messages may sometimes be frustrating as the pages don't have anything in common with the actual website. That’s why some web hosting providers permit you to apply your own error pages that'll match the design of your own website and which could have any content which you want - details why the error has occurred, a suggestion how to handle it or even some witty remark. Such a function shall help you keep the visitor on the website no matter the error or the reason for it.
Custom Error Pages in Cloud Hosting
You will be able to set up personalized error pages for any of your websites with ease when you use any of our cloud hosting. This can easily be done through the Hosted Domains part of the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with all accounts and when you go there, you'll be able to set your personalized pages independently for any domain or subdomain. You need to upload the files to your account in advance and enter the links to them through the process. This function could be de-activated anytime and the options you will be able to select from are a standard page from our system or a default Apache web server page. Customized error pages could be set with an .htaccess file as well. The file should be placed in the domain or subdomain folder and it must contain some system code and links to the pages. If you aren't tech-savvy, you may copy the entire content necessary for the file from our Help section.
