Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code domain extension is really popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and attractive domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to give it with colleagues and acquaintances. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is related to the information technology sector as IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known around the world.

Since dot IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this extension, such a domain can be bought through a 3rd-party registration provider, such as ours. You can grab a dot IT domain for a one-year period at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it the moment the transfer has been finished. Because there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various areas and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion.
